Dark Days of Winter Challenge Meal 2

Tuesday night I made broiled lamb chops from Meadow Run Farm.
I did not end up photographing the lamb chops because the 5-year-old was busy chastising me in the kitchen, "MOM! we don't take pictures of our food. We take pictures of people." Sides were local salad mix and roasted cauliflower with salt and pepper. I marinated the lamb chops with local garlic, a mix of dried Italian herbs, sea, salt and pepper. I broiled them for three minutes on each side. The lamb was wonderful and as usual I ended up thinking to myself why don't I buy lamb more often. The olive oil, salt, and salad dressings were the only non-local items on our table Tuesday night.

Last night was pizza after my parents got back from the airport. We're stopping by Greensgrow
and Reading Terminal Market to pick-up ingredients tonight for dinner. I think it might be crab cakes for dinner.

Saturday is a trip to the apple orchard for apples and pumpkins. I'll post market reports soon. I also got my first order form for the winter market today. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.

Hi! I came to you from my friend Angie - FarmMom. Your meal sounds delicious although it is always difficult for me translating American cooking terms - here in the UK broiled would mean cooked in water but I think that you have grilled your chops. I think that your son will have to get used to having his food photographed! Mine just shrug their shoulders in a resigned way now.
Good luck with your blog - I hope that you meet some interesting people and enjoy the challenge.
